I gotta change the clutch cable on my car....its not self adjusting anymore. One journey it can be sticking and not quite biting properly and the next it will be floppy. Best to change it before it goes completely but I am no mechanic and dont have a manual (was gonna get one soon though). Rolling Eyes

I haven't done mine yet but 1 good tip I can give you is to run the new cable alongside the path of the old cable before removing it.

Just take your time doing it, after all it's only a cable, may be a bit fiddly but they can be done.

I'm sure you'll be ok

Yeh, you might have to undo the pedal stop bolt to provide extra slack.
This is above the pedal vertical, give it a few turns.

Also, don't be so sure that it's just the cable.

Clutch itself but the way you describe it try the cable first.
You are certain it's not hydraulic ofcourse because some models are..
Get a Haynes manual, they're brilliant!

Best of luck!

Buy a Haynes manual. You have to remove a few items for good access. Washer bottle, battery and battery tray but all quite easy just surprising they have to come off.
Getting it on and off the pedal is harder than anyone can explain it is a (insert any suitable word.)
However, after a problem with my daughters cable, I can get it on or off the pedal in less than 20 seconds but you need long, slim fingers.
The best advice I can give is get your head under there and have a look how it fits. Then get your head out of the way and do it all by feel. A genuine cable is easier to fit than a pattern one as the shank on the cable that goes through the bulk head is usually longer on a genuine cable and guides the cable much closer to the pedal.
Good luck!!!!!
