New exhaust manifold and oxygen sensor in Aug. much smoother after that. 107,000 miles.
Been perfect since 2006 and 10,000 miles but since Oct. I get an intermittent juddering at 2000 revs after 10mins on the motorway. It judders but there is still electrical power and the revs don't drop on the rev. counter and it maintains speed. Still good MPG.
If I commute 10mins and avoid Motorways - revs above 2K - then there is no juddering and no Engine Management light.
It has been getting more frequent and noticeable. If I drive for an Hour it only happens every 10-15mins. Not all the time when driving. It doesn't happen If I sit in 3rd eg high revs.
Tried redex fuel and injector cleaners. No real change.
I cleaned the butterfly/air cleaner passage with Carb. Cleaner. Not sure it made any difference. I have read about the throttle body etc but have not done anything to clean the sensors etc. If I can get the car up I will replace the fuel filter, If mine is on the outside under the body, as it;s an easy job.
I'm thinking of taking it to an Auto Electrician and getting him to fault code it and check the plugs/coil pack/leads.
Any ideas ?

I know the Autoelectrician so will go and see him tomorrow.
Just been out at the car. 1.4 petrol manual. Has the fuel filter/pump under the driver side rear passenger seat. So can't readily see the fuel filter or easily replace it.
I think it's a sensor or coil pack. Certainly a lot to take off to access and check the spark plugs ?

And I now know how to get the plugs out to check them too.

As it's still only juddering after 5-10mins driving I think it's a sensor. The fuel pump - under the drivers side passenger seat - primes up when the keys are in the ignition.

I think it's a sensor fault as it runs smoothly till 5-10 mins.

Does this effect idling or when I'm not accelerating when driving ?

Just checked all connections I could reach for good connection, dirt, corrosion etc. Then I found a female 3 pin connector under the front below the wiper and about 20mm from a loom. No other connector near it. Pic in the link above.
Trawled the hatnes manual pics to see what it is. Im hoping it's for another model.
I cleaned - carb cleaner -into the breather opening, on all the engine side of the carb/throttle body, breather hose connections. Seemed to make it run much smoother at idle.
I have bought a code reader, bluetooth compatible, obd 2 and has scanning capabilities. So can drive the car and when the juddering starts, the phone will show readouts etc.

Cleaned off easily. Car drove more sweetly and quietly until the usual 80degs or 10mins then the now normal juddering. It's also on it's first fuel tank of shell v power.
Hopefully my obd scanner arrives soon and some light will be shed....

Smooth driving from start and after 80deg coolant temp, the fuel system changed. From
'Closed loop, using o2 sensor for fuel mix'
to juddering starting and 'open loop due to system failure' on the component status.
The other seems fine, air intake pressure is reading smoothly up and down when normal throttle up and down.
This is with the Torque app.
No data comes from the fuel trim or maf sensor. Are these faulty ?
Im getting air intake pressure, does that come from the maf ?

Using the wee OBD 2 - ELM 327 Scanner/Reader
The TORQUE app was good at showing various readings and seeing if sensors were giving reasonable readings etc. But it did not read CODES.
Downloaded OBD Car Doctor free app and bingo codes came up. Also the MAF reidngs was Ok. Torque app. never showed that. Car Doctor showed eachs ensor or reading on it's own so good for that.
