#1: few questions Author: commandosqueak, Location: Lower SlaughterPosted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:07 pm ---- Had my pug for a while now, cheap to run as its a 1.4 HDI and has not let me down yet (touch wood). Seeing as the car is here to stay I want to do a few bits and bobs to it.
First things first, new rear axle, as the radius arm bearings are shot. I have the axle but are they a difficult job to swap? I'm guessing I would need new bearings when I pull the hubs off?
Once this is done I am going to lower it a little, about 30-40 mm max.
Completed a full service today, just need to change an injector as cylinder one is misfiring. Would it cause damage running on three cylinders?
Will put some alloys on, just to confirm PDC 4*108 and offset is 25-28 and the bore 65.1?
Cruise control is a no go and mine is a 200a3 which is a bummer will upgrade to phase 2 headlights with HID's. Am I right in thinking I need pp2000 to alter the setting to twin bulb from single? And I also need an adapter loom?
With pp2000 what should I look for when buying, I have read loads of threads and know there are a lot of knock off's?
Finally I have a multiplexed 206 with ppt-40 two line display. If I wanted to upgrade to rt3 head unit etc is it a hard job? What bits do I need and are they available/ expensive?
A lot of questions I know but I am eternally grateful for any help
#2: Re: few questions Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:21 pm ---- Why would you need new bearings when you take the hubs off?
#3: Re: few questions Author: commandosqueak, Location: Lower SlaughterPosted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:25 pm ---- I haven't taken rear hubs off before but in my experience when taking front hubs off the bearing comes apart and normally needs replacing.
#4: Re: few questions Author: commandosqueak, Location: Lower SlaughterPosted: Tue Dec 17, 2013 3:57 am ---- However i have now read my manual and realised the bearings are designed to run the life of the car and shouldn't come apart when i take the hubs off.
Can anyone answer my other questions?

You only need PP2000 if you want to switch from single optic to double optic (i.e. when using full beam, both bulbs are switched on at the same time).
Although given yours is 2003, I would have thought it would already do that? Everything should just be plug and play otherwise.

#8: Re: few questions Author: VorTechS, Location: Gloucestershire, UKPosted: Wed Dec 18, 2013 8:29 am ---- Well Phase 1 to Phase 2 should be a straight swap.
#9: Re: few questions Author: commandosqueak, Location: Lower SlaughterPosted: Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:15 am ---- will i not need pp2000? i have the three pin plug taped behind which i found this morning when i checked the fluid levels so they should just plug in?

to remove the axle, whip the hubs off, release the handbrake cables, then the brake lines, undo the mounting bolts
Once this is done I am going to lower it a little, about 30-40 mm max.
Soak in WD40 before fitting and clean up as best you can

Yes, sort that first!
Will put some alloys on, just to confirm PDC 4*108 and offset is 25-28 and the bore 65.1?
not 100% but sounds about right

yes there is an option in pp2000 to set it as twin bulb setup, i've done this on mine
With pp2000 what should I look for when buying, I have read loads of threads and know there are a lot of knock off's?
try to find a genuine person selling theirs if theyve moved away from Pug

Is that the MP3 oem headunit as in 307/207s etc? i've looked into this but no one actually seemed to of done it, so could be lucky of the draw if it works
A lot of questions I know but I am eternally grateful for any help
