#1: Grinding noise on acceleration Author: karimali831, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Dec 17, 2013 9:34 am ---- Hi,
I have recently noticed a grinding noise when accelerating, it sounds clear in gear 1, gear 2 you hear it slightly and the other gears you don't notice. It maybe like a metal-to-metal contact? 2011 March I had a new clutch, for sure gone a lot heavier since and clutch pedal annoyingly squeaks so maybe something behind this? Other concern is water pump was never changed and I am at 110k miles.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Well I recommend that you do a whole timing belt kit replacement,as 110K is much for a water pump, and it may fail at anytime, and it's not right ,to change the water pump, and keep the old timing belt with it's tensioner.

My timing belt was also done around same time as clutch 83-84k but no water pump. So I should change the belt again with the water pump although the belt has only done 24-25k ?
