#1: How long til my 206 dies ? Author: SMIA, Posted: Tue Dec 31, 2013 9:17 am ---- Strut mount bearing is clicking on driver side, and now there is a loud knock from rear driver side which I suspect is trailing arm bearing, I.e axle is nackered..!! It's 12 years old and has got 9 months left on the MOT so I'll just run it til it dies. Question is I have to make 4 journeys to Rotherham and back in January, what is the worst that can happen and more importantly is it up to the job or do I need to make contingency plans??
Thanks

If you know what your doing. If you don't car could be off road for days.

It's all about maintenance, and a car will only 'die' if you don't look after it, and it doesn't sound like you have been.
A few quid on repairs now will still be cheaper than a new car which could be a can of worms.

Maintenance is the key.
If you don't get at least 200k out of a car with no major repairs you havnt looked after it.

,I still have a 1984 car,that I used 3 times a week,at it drives like a charm,and all of that because of good maintenance.
Don't put yourself at risk,or others in the matter, because you don't wanna fix your car,and wait for it to die,we can't guess what will happen if you don't fix it no matter where the journey is,but I can tell you one thing, fix it or leave it back home and use public transportation.
