#1: Peugeot over heating? Author: tanya_lou89, Posted: Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:58 am ---- Hi, I have a Peugeot 206 1.4 glx, the temp starts low and doesn't go past half way generally unless I put something electrical on I.e the lights, heating or even sometimes radio. Then it sits in the first red line. If I turn everything off it drops but never goes back to half way until everything been of for a while I.e like electrical things. If I use the car with nothing electrical atal on then in stays nicely at just under half way. I don't think it's overheating, the coolant remains the same e.t.c. Can anyone advise what could be? Me or my partner have absolutely no idea!

Had something similar on my 1.4 HDi where it went to max and warning light came on and it was obviously still ok. Swapped out sensor on thermostat housing.
No idea why using radio or heater triggers yours though ...

We don't mind doing the work on it ourselves, just knowing what it is.pretty sure it isn't over heating as when you turn ignition of then back on, it goes back to normal. How strange!

Have a look on the actual sensor (on top of the coolant outlet on the upper part passenger side of the engine) and take it from there.

I was thinking on the same lines, check also the main earth cable from the gearbox to the passenger side inner wing also.
