#1: spark plug removal Author: nazz1234, Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2014 6:25 pm ---- Hello..
I have a Peugeot 206 1124 cc 2001... I want to take a look at the spark plugs...Does anyone know what size socket I need to get them out, also do I need anything special to get them out as they are at the back of the engine and at a step angle..
Thanks for your help.

Nothing special about it, disconnect the coilpack, it is held in place by a couple of small size bolts, maybe 8mm/10mm and take the whole packet out. Then you should be able to reach them. Just make sure NOT to change them right after the car has been driven. Because when the engine is hot, there is a greater risk on damaging the threads of the spark plugs - even on removal..
When re-installing, don't overtighten them. Wind them in place using the socket and an extension on it with fingers and after that tighten just a tad more with a ratchet or similar tool.

Changing plugs at 6,000 (that was the interval when in started driving) increased years ago. people get hung up on plug changes for no reason.
