#1: Front Passenger Carpet is Wet. Why? Author: byronwells, Posted: Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:58 am ---- Alright guys
I have got a Peugeot 206, year 2001 and last week when it was really badly raining I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the front passenger side near one of the vents. At the time I put it down to my wife leaving her car belt in the door and not shutting it properly. So I cleaned it up and dried it out. Told my wife to make sure she shuts the door properly and she does now Because of how cold it has been it has taken a few days to fully dry...
However I have woken up today... (Not sure if it rained last night or not) and have noticed the puddle is back.. No idea what the problem is..
No where else in the car is why just there so totally confused. Can someone help? Because I need to know if there is a serious fault or not

Check the holes in the door itself (get on your knees and look under) are not blocked. (Common problem for people)
If neither of those are a issue... Sit in the car and get the missus (or vise versa) to pour water over the door while you watch. Then you maybe want to possibly check that the waterproof membrane on the door is still sealed (requires you to open the door card)

Thanks for your advice... I have noticed while trying to investigate the problem that there is a load of gunk under the wipers part.. I believe around this area is some sort are air vents for the interior? I have heard that this could be blocked..
How do I get at them?

I have just checked the two holes on the bottom of the drop by sticking my finger up there and nothing came out so I gather they are not blocked. I will get my missus to pour water later. Does it mater how much water??
Whats the waterproof membrane??

If you remove the door card, there's a piece of foam/plastic siliconed (or something similarly sticky) to the inside metal surface of the door, Any water that goes past the window weather seals (and it will definitely happen, should run down either the metal inside of the outer door skin or hit the backside of this membrane (or the metal parts of the inside of the door the plastic is attached to), and all run down to the bottom of the door to exit through the drain holes.
If the membrane is broken, water can get through and run down the inside side of the door or back of the door card and up ends inside the weather seal (ie inside the cabin) at the bottom of the door opening rather than the outside of it, as it does if it exits via the drain holes.

The air intake for the interior is through the bonnet vent and the air flows to the pollen filter which is situated in the bulkhead on the drivers side behind the suspension mount.

The interior fan would have a hard time delivering outside air into the cabin...
Very unlikely to be blocked by gunk as it sits so high. Might accumulate dust though, reducing performance. Unlikely way for water to get in as it sits so high. over a deep void.
To remove the filter, just stick your hand in their, grab and pull forward, might have to angle one of the sides out ahead of the other as it isn't rectangular but more like
