Does anyone know how to work out if the button on the windscreen wiper stalk is broken?!
I'm trying to change the display unit to show how many miles I have left in my tank. I kindly jump started a car, it reset my battery and now this info isn't showing on the display.

Not sure if you can pop it off with a small screw driver and then use a cocktail stick to see if the switch is working.

Have you tried doing a soft boot on the BSI?
Beginners guide

Yeah I tried that earlier but it didn't seem to make a difference. I will try that but I don't want to break anything!!!

You can jump start a car with another which has a bsi system, you just have to be a bit careful how you do it.

So I managed to fix it. I just took the end off the button, used a small screw driver to clean it out and removed some weird orange stuff from it, put the button back on and IT WORKS!!
