#1: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 12:51 pm ---- Hey everyone.. hope your well.
Im seriously looking at upgrading to a janspeed exhaust before i go ahead and spend loads of a full system
My question is.. do actually need to buy the full system or can i just buy the backbox...
Will i still get pops/small performance difference with just the backbox?
Thanks!!!
#2: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: NorthantsBen, Location: Raunds, NorthamptonshirePosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 12:57 pm ---- i had a ashley cat back (with middle box removed) and that pops
performance wise i never had it standard so cant compare but a full one without cat it definitely has better power at lower revs than with a cat.
#3: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, EnglandPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:13 pm ---- Can you fit a Janspeed backbox to a standard centre section? To be honest you're never going to see massive gains from just fitting an exhaust system unless it has a fair few more serious mods but even for noise and pops and bangs alone i'd fit the whole system
#4: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:38 pm ---- Yeah I know I'm not going to gain much performance wise really but there'll still be a little increase so i've read anyway.
I don't really know if itll go on the standard system, they just need to check the bore sizes?
Any other thoughts of whole system or not? Don't want to spend a extra £200 if I don't need to
Cheers lads

#6: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 2:04 pm ---- Thanks but it's a 180 mate
#7: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: LiamGTi180, Location: OxfordPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 2:44 pm ---- For the price of the backbox alone you may aswell pay the extra to get the full system. You wont regret it. It does drone too much on motorways and the popping is insane on the down run
#8: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: 123nathan0g, Posted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 3:49 pm ---- Shame I'm only a 1.4 this popping on the back of sounds fun, who's got a video?

Personally, I think they sound s**te but the pops make up for the annoying drone.
#11: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Mon Feb 17, 2014 12:21 pm ---- I've seen a full Stainless steel Janspeed system on ebay for £195 but the tailpipes don't have Janspeed inscribed on them but the seller is adamant it is a genuine system. It looks identical to ones seen on here apart from no "Janspeed" inscribed on the tail pipe.
Anyone know if they did two different types?

#13: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Mon Feb 17, 2014 12:33 pm ---- I'm not buying it directly from Janspeed themselves, it's a company on ebay called Performance_peugeot
#14: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Mon Feb 17, 2014 12:33 pm ---- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371...1497.l2649
#15: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Mon Feb 17, 2014 12:35 pm ---- yes i get that but janspeed will tell you if they ever made a system for the 206 without stamping it with there name.

#17: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 11:34 am ---- Alright fellas,
Well I received the my 2nd hand janspeed catback today after much worry about it being genuine or not, well it is!!
Pics below of how It came and then after giving it a good polish with autosol(recommended by DanT and now myself, amazing stuff
Not perfect but saved me a lot of money!
#18: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, EnglandPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 12:37 pm ---- Good news mate
Not a lot of point in buying a brand new one when you can spend a bit of time making a second hand one look nice and save a decent chunk of money is there.
Thats come up really well too. Looks awesome Got to love Autosol haha.
#19: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 1:04 pm ---- Yeah bud so happy with it, mate It's brilliant couldn't believe how well it came up !!
Now just have to fit it, I tried connecting the backbox to the center pipe and it's like there both the same size pipe that or it's gonna be a VERYY tight fit.
I can't even get them connected on my bed let alone under the car!
#20: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 1:18 pm ---- Oh lol nevermind I've just done it, bit of force needed
#21: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: LiamGTi180, Location: OxfordPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 3:05 pm ---- Looks good mate. Done a good job there. How you getting on with it? Little tip to make it pop. On the downrun in the revs slighlty blip the throttle
#22: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: bashyy1, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 3:54 pm ---- I'm hopefully fitting it all properly tomorrow and I'll give it a go n let you know.
Nice one!! I'll give it a go
#23: Re: janspeed backbox/full system Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, EnglandPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 4:21 pm ---- Yeah they are a tight fit, i find it easier to spray a bit of GT85 or WD40 or whatever you have thats similar on the two bits that contact each other, and then kind of twist it a bit as you're pushing it on, goes on nice and easy that way Little tip for you, when you're fitting it leave all the clamps etc finger tight until you have it sat in the bumper nicely, then tighten them up. No-one wants a wonky exhaust lol.

I second this i also found that whilst being quite a subtle system, if you go on a long journey or you've just been absolutely spanking it lol it pops and bangs like mad when coming down the revs and with a tiny tiny amount of throttle you can pretty much do it on demand.
Brings out everyones inner chav for a minute haha.
