#1: Inconsistent Rear Tyre Wear Author: Bigbenj_08, Location: CardiffPosted: Tue Feb 18, 2014 1:13 pm ---- I have abnormal wear on the inside edge of the offside rear wheel.
Its not consistent though. Ie, its not a band of wear which would indicate that the tyre was always at the wrong angle.
The only way I can describe it is as "wavy" up and down wear. There are no sharp edges, but a defined wave on the inside edge.
Now I've had the wheel bearings checked before and its just gone through its MOT and service (literally 10 days ago) and had no advisories on the rear suspension/bushings or the tyre.
However, I have had a hum, (SEE THREAD) which my mechanic has now checked 3 times, found nothing and can only seem to suggest its an issue with the tyre, however I have the same tyre on the other side and up front with no issues.
I'm lost. Any ideas?
I had a puncture today so had to buy a crappy tyre to get me home from north wales, so I'm tempted to swap the offside front and rear to see if I get the same wear on the cheapo tyre...

Never had it before though which is the most confusing thing... Whats the cure, suspension overhaul?
