#1: 206 gti ignition barrel Author: wezzel98765, Location: Dover, KentPosted: Tue Feb 18, 2014 6:38 pm ---- On the 296 gti that I bought last year, it has got a silly lush start button fitted.
I believe that this is because the ignition barrel no longer has the "spring" on the last bit of turn that returns the key from fully twisted, back to the bit before hand.
To start the car currently, the key needs to be fully turned, then twist back to where the key normally automatically twists back to, then push the on button.
Does this sound like the barrel just needs a spring or something?
I'd like to have the car working as it should really
