#1: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Fri Feb 28, 2014 4:01 pm ---- Here is my 206 XS in Firedance orange! I picked it up on Monday past, 98k miles, full service history, 2 keys, original factory/dealer tags, owned by a peugeot technician etc... basically stole the car it was that cheap!
So as I have a 2011 Citroen DS3 as a daily hack, I plan to use the XS in lanes rallys here in Northern Ireland, and from then on progressing to Sprints or Rallying as I evolve and upgrade the car!

Maybe other forum members can shed some light on what the wheels are!

thanks macj! Maybe you good point me in the direction of some peugeot rally prep specialists? Looking a sump gaurd at the minute plan to do a few navigation/lanes rally's over the summer for a start
#7: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Sat Mar 01, 2014 9:07 am ---- I have a 10mm sump guard at present which I plan to replace with a lighter one. You can either buy that one off me or I can get a price for the same one I am getting made to replace it.
I have mates in northern Ireland based in county Armagh who could be useful for deliveries. As far as rally prep goes you will need to let me know what your doing at the time as to where you need to contact.
#8: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Sat Mar 01, 2014 12:00 pm ---- Frig thats quite thick is it not? I need lightness to be on my side due to the lack of power lol
#9: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Sun Mar 02, 2014 8:13 am ---- ok so here is a wee insight into what it should start to look like...

#14: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:38 am ---- Hello Guys,
Had the Clutch replaced along with a new OE Clutch Cable (nightmare to fit) and had the exhaust temporarily repaired until I purchase an Ashley system. Also confirmed my suspicions about the back axle... its totally shot! So going to have to replace that before MOT in May! Typical! Also considering a brake upgrade... not sure what to go for though?? Any ideas?
Thanks
Glenn.
#15: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:57 am ---- I'd go for a GTi 180 rear axle as it's likely to be stronger and has the rear discs and get the exhaust modified to clear the axle when you get it.

This is true... hmmm its finding a 206 gti rear axle over here in Northern Ireland tho!
#17: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Sun Mar 23, 2014 2:57 am ---- good brake up grade is the 180 calipers nice and cheap now, 280mm discs
#18: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Fri Mar 28, 2014 7:43 pm ---- Just found someone over here in NI breaking a GTI 180! Going to contact them 2moro about the front Calipers! is there anything else worth getting off it?
#19: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Sat Mar 29, 2014 1:35 am ---- rear axel but that will require the exhaust also
#20: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Sat Mar 29, 2014 1:58 am ---- righto! is the GTI rear suspension more stiff than usual? my back axle at the minute is knackered!
#21: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Sat Mar 29, 2014 12:05 pm ---- the 180 one has sway bars that help reduce rear steer, also the torsion bars are .5mm thicker and the arb will be thicker and also discs, you can remove the sway bars so if its going for cheap get it
#22: Re: My Firedance XS Rally Project Author: GlennMRX, Posted: Sat May 10, 2014 5:15 pm ---- Hey guys, no update on the XS as yet, currently using it as my daily driver as my missus car is off the road so she stole my DS3!
BUT just happened to buy another 206 the other day! Just for spares though! £200 and it has a recently replaced axle! super tight wee car though the bodywork is tatty but im sure the scrap metal merchants wont be too fussy about that either! lol
