I am currently looking at a 54 plate 206 with about 55k on the clock 1.4
I took the car out on a test drive and all seemed fine. It has part service history. I'm new to the 206, is there anything in particular I should look out for?
Thanks

Diesel, petrol?
8v or 16v
Model? i.e LX, Look, Zest ect ect

#5: Re: 206 1.4 Author: Chris22, Posted: Tue Mar 04, 2014 1:46 am ---- 1.4 16v, not sure of the model. Think it's one up from the base. Its got elec front window, mirrors, white dials, air con (which works) but no alloys

#9: Re: 206 1.4 Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Tue Mar 04, 2014 9:01 am ---- I remember when the ET3 engine was first launched, my mate at Peugeot had plenty of overtime doing head gaskets, pretty sure they had one fail at under 100 miles from new

Doesn't surprise me. I am getting mine done shortly. Full rebuild headskim etc etc.

Doesnt suprise me. First TU engines in the ax had piston slap and a recall was new pistons and rods. They got it done to one every 10 to 12 hours! And thats back when air tools weren't fully about
Headgaskets fail after 20k and no real cure has been found. One tech says mastic but im dubious of this on the main gallery seal!
#12: Re: 206 1.4 Author: Chris22, Posted: Wed Mar 05, 2014 4:20 am ---- Should I be concerned about the 1.4 petrol engine? Im getting the oil, filter and plugs changed before I get it. Im getting the reported slight leak looked into at the same time
