#1: Brake Compensator Author: A10PSW, Posted: Fri Mar 07, 2014 11:59 am ---- My car is dipping backwards when braking which indicates to me that it could be the Brake compensator.
Where about is this on the car, is it easily assessable so I can spray it with penetrating oil to try and free it up?

Might be worth whipping the drums off and making sure there is plenty of meat on the shoes and they are not grabbing at the drum when you brake.

You could have the pressure sensitive valve that is incorporated into the brake cylinder. As far as I know, these are not serviceable so would require the cylinder to be replaced.
