Hi i have a 206 1.9 lx diesel, the indicator on the left side don't work properly it is intermittent, it sometimes works then goes mad clicking as if a bulb has gone but then works ok, i have checked all the bulbs and checked the earth wires, checked all the connections, now im stuck don't know what else it could be, it is the same even when i put on the hazard lights the right side flashes but the left side only does then stops then starts, can anyone help please im pulling my hair out.

for info it is a 2000 reg .

Thanks

Paul

If your lucky it will be metal swarf inside the indicator stalk.

If your unlucky it will be the relays soldered to the BSI unit.

If that is pre-BSI the indicator stalk is fairly easy to take apart and clean. I did my daughter's and it cured the problem she had that there wasn't a central cancel point and it would flash almost all the time. Just hitting a pot hole would be enough to set the indicator flashing.

Sounds to me like a high resistance / intermittent connection on the LH side. It would be unusual but it could also be a bulb issue. Might be worth swapping bulbs one at a time left to right and see if the problem changes sides.

How have you checked wires and connections? Visually or with a meter. If with a meter with bulbs flashing or only with circuit dead?

Does anyone know if this is a conventional bi-metallic strip flasher relay and is it easily replaced?

No chance of that, it's a pair of miniature relays in the BSI unit, these non plexed BSI's are total crap Laughing

Hi All,

Problem sorted it was the BSI unit it had to be replaced managed to get a secondhand one and get it all reprogrammed ended up costing £160 so not too bad as a new unit is £400.

Got another problem now.

when i press the rear washer no water comes out but then when i get out of the car i see a puddle at the front and back of the car when i investigate it looks like it is coming trough the seal seal on the drivers side can anyone tell me where the washer pipe goes from the front of the car as i cant find it anywhere.

Cheers
Paul
