#1: Aux belt tensioner Author: Anthonys206, Posted: Sat Mar 29, 2014 2:16 pm ---- Hi guys, I got round to changing the aux belt on my 206 1.4 today. All was going well until we started her up and SMOKE!. The belt is rubbing on the tensioner bracket and no matter how many times I move it away the belt slips back again. Can anyone shed any light to this problem.

When you look at some of the old fashioned steam or stationary engines that drive other equipment via large flat belts the reason the belts stay on is the pulleys are convex (they are slightly larger in the middle than outside edges.) therefore each side of the belt tries to "climb" toward the centre keeping the belt on the pulley. Useless info for the day over.
