Hi All,

I've noticed that my HDi is a little sluggish recently. I plugged in my diagbox and it came back with the below.

Any points would be appreciated! I suspect the outside temperature sensor is to do with the passenger mirror being damaged!

The outside temperature sensor, incorrect value received
Coolant temperature sensor (van network) incorrect value received
Vehicle speed information. Incorrect value received
No communication between the BSI and air conditioning ecu.
Air conditioning circuit pressure information. Incorrect value received
Clutch switch signal. Constancy with vehicle speed

When my coolant temperature sensor went, MPG reduced, and engine felt generally unhappy.

Replacing it fixed all those problems (in HDi case it's the blue sensor placed into the engine towards the battery side, on petrols it's the green one) see the whole thread about it:

Hi Sledge, many thanks for that i'll give it a try.

A bit more driving around the power loss seems to be in lower revs (ie when having just changed gear) and seems a bit better (but by no means normal) in higher revs.

Typical, I got the part ordered and I went to fit it today, wrong part! My existing one was a push in with a clip to hold in place and the new one sent was a screw in (well at least it was threaded). Could this be used an alternative with the clip?

Strange, I've seen only clip-in blue sensors for HDi.

Best is to get it from Peugeot official dealer, as you don't want to screw around with such sensitive parts aftermarket, pardon the pun Smile

I cant remember any thread in the termo block , you can risk and try to remove the old one - just cork it up fast for not to lose liquid. Then check for any thread.

Then bring the old one home, and measure the resistance between pins, as I wrote out in link above. If they match sanely, means your sensors is fine.

To measure it as 36 C temperature, you have to, well, clean it very well and warm it in your mouth Rolling On The Floor Laughing

The one I pulled out is defiantly the plug in one though, in all fairness I should have tested it when I had it all apart but I don't have the kit. The PP200 is now coming up with this if it helps?

Permanent fault. Engine coolant temperature signal. Short-circuit to positive or circuit open.

I'm guessing this is the plug itself rather than the wiring?

You only need a multimeter from Maplins to test it though.

But PP2000 says the truth - it will be the sensor itself gone.

Apparently there are both green and blue for diesels Surprised World's crazy Smile
