hi can anyone help...

i have a 1.6 8 valve and when i change from first to second it crunches and its the same when i change from third down to second...

sometimes it wont let me select a gear and i have to literally ram it in

and there's a terrible shake from the right hand driveshaft as i accelerate

now im guessing the gearbox and driveshaft are dead

so whats the best box to put in i want it to accelerate well but not to overrev like hell on a long run just a good medium would be good...

is the 1.6 box the best one to put back in ?

thanks for all help recieved

Driveshaft won't affect the gear selection

Clutch adjustment or needs bleeding or clutch is sticking.

Also check the selector rods are moving properly and not loose.

Sounds like a worn input bearing or baulk ring. Just replace the box or get it inspected and refurbished
