I tried searching google and through the forums but couldn't find an answer.
I have a 2.0 90 Dturbo HDI 01 and my brakes squeak loudly now and then. The front discs & pads are quite worn so I'm going to change them can anyone recommend a decent set of discs and pads I could order. I don't race in it and everything is still standard. I'm not sure about the rear brakes, how often do these need changed and is it difficult to change the brake fluid because it hasn't been changed in the last 2 years/25k or should I have it done in a garage for safety?
Also my handbrake light flashes on/off when I'm climbing up hills does it just need tightening up a bit?

#2: Re: Brake discs and Brake pads Author: richpowell91, Location: Melton Mowbray LeicestershirePosted: Sun Apr 13, 2014 2:07 pm ---- Discs you want to keep to a decent make i.e brembo, bosch etc. For pads again keep to a well known make brembo, ferodo, bosch and avoid apec if you can. If you go to a motor factor they will probably quote you for apec because they have a bigger mark up so make sure to specify a decent make.
The rears need looking at to make sure the cylinders arnt leaking or seized as well as the handbrake may need adjustment.
The light will more than likely be down to your brake fluid being low. But when yoou change your front brakes this will go back up so dont fill it right to the top for the time being.
Changing the brake fluid isnt a hard job in itself, but can turn into a long one if you get the bleed nipples shearing. What i would do it try and crack all four bleed nipples of first before doing any of the work. If they come undone easy then your winning. If you shear any of the nipples however you will have to replace the rear cylinders and either try and remove the rest of the sheared nipple on the fronts or get replacement calipers.
#3: Re: Brake discs and Brake pads Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Sun Apr 13, 2014 2:13 pm ---- Well I would recommend buying the front discs and brake pads from the dealer,as it got the best quality,if you want after market one,there is a brand name named (Breco)or another one named (Brembo) ,about the brake pads,you can have (Ferodo),it's the same one as OEM.
About the rear brakes,they live long if there is no issue with your hand brake ,so i believe got drums in the back.
About the handbrake light flashing when you climb up a hill is caused by a low brake fluid,when you replace your front discs and pads,the brake fluid will back to normal,and will be no more flashing,and if you wanna change your brake fluid oil,you better do it in the garage.

I found some Brembo discs and pads on APmotorstore's ebay account which seem to have a good rep and seen some posts here which people used them for parts.
Will these fit ok? I searched my reg on brembo's catalogue and they came up with a few options for discs and pads for my car, does that mean any of them will fit right?
Sorry for all the questions I'm quite new to this.
