You really need to get the fault codes read ...

But what make/type of plugs have you got and what make of coil pack is on it now? They are some plug/coilpack combinations that give problems ...

How do you know the misfire is plugs or coil pack. it could be an injector fault.

You need to record and clear existing codes. Drive the car until it misfires again and re-read the codes. If the new codes are different to the old ones work to the new codes; some codes are stored for a very long time and can lead you to try and fix faults that no longer exist.

Codes are often stored even if the light isn't on. get the codes read or you will throw money at it just guessing what the problem is.

What age is the car. Make and model. After 2002 and a £15 code reader off ebay will read and clear the codes.

Even then generic codes readers are prone to reporting the wrong fault code on a Pug! Even proper expensive garage ones ... Crying or Very sad PP2000 is still the dogs ...

Where did the coil pack come from?

Is the wiring to the small coil pack plug ok? It was eother on this site or the 206cc one where this was the cause as the wiring had started to break at the plug.

(I haven't been under the cover of our 2.0 lately, so I can't remember if the coil pack has a separate earth wire ... if it has, check that)
