#1: Catalytic converter problem Author: karimali831, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue May 13, 2014 2:17 pm ---- Every summer I have some sort of overheating problem with the car only this time the CAT is making loud thumping sound when I rev the engine.. this was after being stuck in traffic and after a while the car felt completely sluggish with coolant temp going 90 to 100 back and forth. Nice to drive at first but when it heats up in traffic or when the weather is hot everything feels heavy and sluggish and revs being erratic at times. Every time I start the engine when it's hot the revs drops at first (as if it's going to stall!) before going to idle.
After having a look at the CAT I haven't noticed any blowing and there is no errors displaying, but something is going on inside the CAT like the baffles are damaged? And I can't be sure if it's coming from the CAT as there is no errors showing maybe it could be the middle section? Although I only recently got the full scorpion exhaust last year. Do you think the CAT is causing the overheating issue or the overheating of the engine caused damaged to the CAT? Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

So I should be looking at one of these then?

And yes, that is what you need to fit, your car will drive much better with this on,trust me ,you can remap it too
