#1: Finally Given Up! Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Sun May 25, 2014 7:45 am ---- The thrust bearing has gone on my HDI GTI now after months of making dodgy sounds!
So the whole lot is now being done as the car has just gone over 100k miles.
My mate is doing it with the Valeo Clutch & Flywheel kit for £610 including labour.
He seems to think we can do it in less than the book time says which is 10 hours- i'm not so sure about that, but hey ho lol.

#4: Re: Finally Given Up! Author: kwakzx7r, Posted: Mon May 26, 2014 3:55 pm ---- Bin the DMF and go SMF, better and cheaper. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400...1423.l2649

I have found no useful SMF comments so going DMF - i will sell the car at around September time to buy a carpet for my house lol i dont do enough miles to justify a diesel any more.

Heard of plenty of extra drive train vibration & also snapped crankshafts caused by fitting solid flywheel conversions
