#1: Fan belt problem. Author: le0n2014, Posted: Sat May 31, 2014 8:09 am ---- I have replaced the head gasket recently on my car and ever since the fan belt has been squeeling. It seems to be catching under the steering pump housing above the pulley and its freyiing the side of the belt, so I have to have the belt 1 notch over to prevent it. I think its because of this that I have a noise coming from 1 of the chain roller bearings too.
Anyone else had this problem at all?

1st thing that comes to my mind is did you use the right belt? Or was it the same as the old one?
Also might be useful to say what engine this is on, i presume either the 1.1, 1.4 or 1.6L ?

Forgot to add mines a 1.4 engine

Ive got a vid of how it sounds but not sure how to post it lol i'm uploading it to youtube now will post when done.
