#1: Radio problem Author: Johnnybrennan20, Posted: Sun Jun 01, 2014 11:42 am ---- Ok so I got my Pug 206 in September 2013. I got a radio off my uncle and I didn't realize two wires were exposed and they touched. Ever since then the radio wont work. I have two aftermarket radios and both wont work. I've tried the radio in my dads car and its still working so it's not fried. The standard radio that came with the car does work, however, it asks for the code everytime I switch on the car. No fuses are blown as I replaced every fuse to test this (under the bonnet and the one inside the car). The other thing is that it stores the stations on it so I'm not sure what it could be?
In the picture I'm attaching I get voltage from every single wire apart from the yellow and green one which I think could be the constant wire. Thanks for any input and solutions anyone can give!

Double check all of your fuses as its sods law you have missed one, I did and my whole car wouldn't start!
Check fuse 4 which should be a 20 amp fuse and fuse 15 which should be a 15 amp fuse.

I'll go out now and double check. Well it wont be double it'll be my 50th time haha. There is voltage off the red wire so if it's not the fuse, not the radio and not the wire... what could it be? Thanks

Are you referring to the one inside the radio itself? If it is that which you are talking about then it's not that and it wouldn't be either because the stock radio was working perfect until the two wires touched but now it needs the code Everytime I turn it on.

No matter how you measured, this does sound like no power on the constant 12V line... Reasons:
1) Stock radio working but keeps asking for code (I'd guess it also forgets radio station presets?)
2 ) Aftermarket HUs not working - these typically have the constant and ignition reversed compared to the stock unit, and they draw main power for operation from [their] switched 12V, ie the cars permanent line.

No thats the strangest part its remembering the stations?!
The aftermarket radio was working until the wires touched I was pushing the radio back into place and the wires behind it sparked
