#1: My standard car Author: Bobsy88, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sat Jun 14, 2014 8:57 am ---- I know it's not special compared to most cars on here, but it's my first car (hopefully I pass in a couple of weeks ) and got it for a really cheap price, I think.
I'm looking to add to it to make it look a bit better, starting with the back, I don't like that black thing above the reg plate so anyone could advise anything for that would be good.
Also looking for some lights and not sure if I can replace that big box thing by the front wipers?
Thanks and any tips/suggestions would be nice, see you all around x

I think you'll want a phase 2 bootstrip which is what the later models have. As for lights, you could upgrade both rear and front lights to phase two lights too which look good. The rears can be upgraded without any modifications however the front lights will need to be modified in terms of wiring. Keep us updated on how everything goes!
#3: Re: My standard car Author: Bobsy88, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sat Jun 14, 2014 11:57 am ---- Cheers mate for your comments, I'll have a look at the boot strips shortly , is that the 'official' name for them? Just so I can search for them easier.
Will be getting new lights on pay day, any recommendations on which sort and where to buy them from?
#4: Re: My standard car Author: E5GDM, Location: EssexPosted: Sat Jun 14, 2014 2:21 pm ---- I think your car looks as good as most on here, just don't put 'Lexus' lights on it.
The 'big box thing' is part of the wiper system, so I think your stuck with that.
#5: Re: My standard car Author: doski, Location: WarwickshirePosted: Sat Jun 14, 2014 2:51 pm ---- tits a cover to a hinge which is part of the wiper mechanism it pops off and you could spray it the same colour as the car though
btw very nice colour whats the colour code for that?
#6: Re: My standard car Author: David1156, Location: East LondonPosted: Sat Jun 14, 2014 3:32 pm ---- Yeah they're either referred to as the boot strip/boot trim. This thread has all the different options for front and rear lights: 206info.co.uk/Forums/v...16875.html
I personally would recommend masked crystals. These are hard to find and quite expensive however there are guides on this website on how to do it yourself. As for rear lights I would recommend fk led rear lights: www.carparts-tuning.co...5-red.html
At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference, but please for the love of god don't buy Lexus lights
#7: Re: My standard car Author: Bobsy88, Location: BirminghamPosted: Mon Jun 23, 2014 2:13 pm ---- Sorry about the late reply..
Been looking for a few lights, havn't brought some yet though.
Also thinking about a spoiler if I find a decent one.
Can't find the colour code for some spray - not on the car anywhere and had a mate come round to double check and in the books but no luck

EYN - Storm Grey I think, but servicebox will tell you for sure
Nothing wrong with keeping a car standard. Makes a change.
#10: Re: My standard car Author: JamieM, Posted: Tue Jun 24, 2014 7:55 am ---- Color would look great as a gti rep.
#11: Re: My standard car Author: Bobsy88, Location: BirminghamPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2014 2:48 pm ---- I pretty much got the colour code from Luke from Service box.
Not sure if this is a silly question or not, but the box thing by the wipers, would I be able to buy some wrap for that or best to spray it?
Thanks for your help guys x
#12: Re: My standard car Author: Bobsy88, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2014 6:29 am ---- Hey guys,
Still havn't done much yet, removed the inside stickers, used some black paint on the bumpers so looks a bit sharper.
Going to do some shopping next weekend though, will be looking for some new lights and also a spoiler (do you think a black one would look OK?), also may get the windows tinted and some bonnet vents. Also still need a boot strip lol. Think I also need some new alloys, I cleaned them since the pictures so most the rust/grime has gone but still would like some more.

hello,
My first car is a 206 1.4 GLX. I am unable to do anything (they wont even let me put GTI alloys on it) without them increasing my insurance, so be weary of what you do depending on your age. I'm guessing you're my age as you're hoping to pass in a few weeks. The lights will definitely put it up, not sure about the thing on the boot though. Window tints will, I'd have thought. Just remember - if you choose not to claim it and have an accident, the insurance company will not payout for any damage. Which leaves you stuck because they'll cancel your policy (will make it pretty much impossible to get re insured!) and wont pay out for the damage.. Just bare that in mind as mine was almost cancelled - was a real eye opener for me!
All in all, its a lovely car, really love the colour!
Ollie
