#1: Fuel leaking from ......? Author: Targa180, Posted: Mon Jun 16, 2014 5:58 pm ---- Hey all, so my garage recently reaks of fuel all the time when the car is in it, something has a leak, all lines at the engine are dry and no imediate smell there, checked the filter just infront of rear drivers side wheel, no leaks there, so then i sprayed waterup under the car all around the fuel tank and it came out pretty colours on the concrete, so, there is a leak somewhere up in there. How much removing fuel tank could I be in for? common problem? I notice an inspection panel in under the rear seats, worth playing around in there searching?
All help appreciated as im going through fuel a tad quicker than id like to be aswell.

Does it always leak? Or only when 3/4 full or 1/2 full etc?

I've heard of a few 206's springing a fuel leak from the seal on the sender / pump unit.

Move the rear seat bench over, and remove the black plastic cover that covers the fuel pump, most likely there if where the fuel comes out,as there is a seal made of silicone, and this seal gets bad with the fuel vapor,so when you fill car with fuel, the fuel comes out from there, and while u move,,,,etc.

Also noticed a sucking or hissing noise with car running when looking over the top of the tank when the seat is up and cover off. Does everyone's do this or is this noise my leak causing bit of a vacuum noise?

I got mine from Europarts and it was cheap enough.
