#1: gear stick Author: dj71, Location: durham ukPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2014 5:27 am ---- hi guys, im having trouble with gear stick, in 5th gear around 50mph i get a load of wobble in the stick, if i press the clutch and move to nutral its still there but not as bad, gear selection is fine, just the wobble, any ideas?
#2: Re: gear stick Author: Lux_Peugeot206, Posted: Thu Jun 26, 2014 9:23 am ---- Hi, my peugeot had a similar issue I am pretty confident my issue is caused by a dodgy nearside driveshaft causing vibration through the car (just haven't got round to replacing yet). You could jack the car one side at a time turn the front wheels and just see if all feels smooth. I would also check the gear shift links just to make sure they are all in order with no play/wear (speaking for a 1.1 these are located at the back of the transmission box as you look from above underneath the battery if I remeber there's three links two short and one long one).
If this all checks alright I'd imagine there is wear in the gear stick mount but I'm not sure of the set up for this as I haven't done a lot with the gear stick.
