#1: What's it worth threads Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, Lancashire PostPosted: Sat Jun 28, 2014 9:18 am
    ----
We are getting an increase in the number of threads where people want to know what something is worth.

These threads are against the forum rules, and have been for some time.

Any threads that are posted asking how much something is worth will be removed as soon as they are seen by a staff member. The member who posted the thread will also receive a warning, and persistent offenders may receive a ban if the staff see fit. This also covers posts in the shoutblock.

We suggest that if you want to know the price of something then you look on an auction site, for example ebay or if you are just pricing up how much your car is worth, then Glasses Guide is a very useful site to visit or even Auto Trader if you are just curious what kind of prices similar vehicles are advertised at.

At the end of the day, something is only worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it.

On certain occasions, what's it worth threads can be allowed, for instance if you have purchased something and feel that you have been ripped off. In these situations, please PM a member of staff prior to posting.

Some people will pull a face at this, but the rules are there to protect you. It is easy for someone who has just signed up to sell something to create a thread asking what something is worth, a member then makes an offer and pays the money for the item, only for the item never to materialize leaving the member out of pocket.
