#1: CV Joint or Whole DriveShaft Author: liz135145, Location: High PeakPosted: Wed Jul 16, 2014 9:14 am ---- Just wondered if anyone knows whether or not you can just buy a CV joint for a 1.1 Petrol or will I need the whole Driveshaft, Gear Oil and new Seal?
Garages have all said they need the driveshaft etc, but just wanted to check external to the garage so I know I'm not being ripped off as my car sounds terrible on full lock and is in desperate need of being fixed, been quoted over £100 just for the driveshaft, oil and seal so far.
Thanks

I bought the left hand driveshaft for a 1.1 petrol for £45 from euro carparts then may max £10 on the oil seal was in good condition. It's a fairly straight forward job admitidy I have in the past had a lot of problems splitting the ball joint but past time was a piece of cake!
To answer your original point you could search euro car parts for a cv joint see if its possible!
Good luck!

Here's hoping this will end what seems to be a curse I've had since I bought the car!
