#1: Misfire on Startup? Author: KYL33x, Posted: Thu Jul 17, 2014 7:02 pm ---- Hi Guys!
I recently passed my driving test 3 months ago and bought myself a 2002 "02" plate Peugeot 206 1.4 8v GLX.
As soon as i started driving it i fell in love with the car, however it has developed a problem which i'm really annoyed with and wish to fix immediately, when i start my car for the first time in the day it seems to be misfiring when it starts?, i will leave it for about 10 to 20 seconds and then it sorts itself out then runs brilliantly.
I have no idea what the problem is, at first i thought it was the spark plugs so i changed the standard NGK set to a set of Bosch +8 spark plugs, it seemed to fix the problem for a few days but then it started misfiring on start up again, so then i thought it was the coil pack, so i bought a brand new coil pack from ebay and chucked than on, no difference, so i have bought myself a new MAP sensor and i'm hoping that when i fit it it will sort the problem.
Any other ideas on what the problem is and how i can fix it?
Thanks in advance!

Author: KYL33x, Posted: Sun Jul 20, 2014 1:19 pm ---- onThe car does not judder at all when driving, it's completely fine, its only when the engine is cold, it misfires for about 15 to 20 seconds then the 4th cylinder kicks in then its fine, it did have a permanent misfire the day after it's mot but the new spark plugs and coil pack sorted that, it only misfires and judders when the engine is completely cold

If nothing else it will give a good indication of engine condition. Also have a look at the plug colours - are they all the same colour or is one slightly darker, more sooty or even black with oil residue.

#8: Re: Misfire on Startup? Author: KYL33x, Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2014 4:24 pm ---- The coolant level is fine, obviously i keep an eye on it and top up when necessary, and the plugs have not changed colour since i put them in, bearing in mind it wasn't to long ago.
