#1: 206 1.1 idle problem Author: russo109, Posted: Mon Jul 28, 2014 3:34 pm ---- Hi m son has 2003 1.1 petrol 3 door car and has recently developed an erratic tick over. It sounds very similar to hunting on tick over and will eventually stall if you leave it run. When the car is going or you rev it, it seems to go fine.
After reading through the forum I think it could be the stepper motor. When i disconnect it and start the engine it doesn't seem to make much difference.
The other possibility is the ignition pack but I guess If it was this it would also effect the general running of the car which it doesn't at the moment.
I've run through the cleaning guide and made no difference. I did notice the end of the existing stepper motor has a small pin hole with a bit of caked on deposit around the edge f the hole
Do you think this is the problem - if so how much should I pay for one and from where. The ebay ones seem to be about £12 but I've seen some on the car part web sites for £80?
