#1: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: jacktastic1, Posted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 1:55 pm ---- Hi guys
I have a peugeot 1.1 petrol 206, 2002 model, I know its not a CC but its pretty much the same except the power and how sluggish it is!
It has recently started misfiring etc, means the ignition coil isnt working properly its only working on 3 cylinders.
I have bought a replacement ignition coil, I am going to swap it over instead of taking it to a mechanics, seems like an easy job and not worth the money sending it off for a relatively simple thing! Which is all fine except I have no clue what wrench I will need!!
I went into Halfords and asked them they seem to be inclined to think its a 12/13 wrench??
Does anyone know what exact wrench size I will need to unscrew the two screws to the ignition coil, its a 2002 Peugeot 206.
Many thanks in advance, would be a great help!

Set of spark plugs at the same time, Bosch Super Plus are perfect for this TU1 engine.

Thanks for your help. Also how hard is it to replace spark plugs as I suppose I had better do that as well while im at it, probably still has the orignals in there!

#5: Re: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:12 pm ---- The spark plugs really need a short extension bar & correct size spark plug socket to remove them, there not difficult to change on the TU1 engine with the correct tools.

I keep one of these in the back of my car for emergency use:
I have removed coil pack & changed TU1 spark plugs with it before for a member on here.
That socket set is sometimes normally on offer during bank holidays / xmas time for around £20. Last edited by MrBSI on Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:15 pm; edited 1 time in total

to recap, would the ebay spanner wrench part work fine? has a variety of diff diameters.
Thanks for the answers so quickly MrBSI, can you list exactly what items I would need to change the spark plugs, and where from if possible if you have time. If not, if you can list the parts needed, ill look on ebay and amazon and get them. In terms of installing them, you take off the induction coil then, what unscrew the spark plugs underneath?
Thanks

Correct, best done with a WARM engine.
Screw the new plug in by hand with the extension bar to avoid cross threading it, then just use the ratchet for the final tighten, just nip them up & then a tiny bit more is enough.

#12: Re: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:25 pm ---- I don't like the look of the ones you've listed. Look like plumbers tools!
#13: Re: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: jacktastic1, Posted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:30 pm ---- haha okay Steve thanks! Can you find a cheapish set if possible with the correct ones? Went into Halfords today and they are quite expensive for a set!!
Also will buy some TU1 spark plugs, and an extention bar to remove them
This seems a bit better? is this the right size? some say 10m on here some say 16mm!
#14: Re: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:34 pm ---- Rather than buying individual tools, it's worth buying a decent kit, a socket set usually comes with spark wrenches. What's your budget? Worth paying for if your thinking of doing a few jobs in the future. If money's tight, I'll look on eBay for you.
#15: Re: Peugeot 206 wrench, help please! Author: jacktastic1, Posted: Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:39 pm ---- Ah okay yes I should probably go for that option then really. Well its my first car and as a student, budget is slightly tight , was gutted to hear it misfire yesterday and will have to replace parts, but much cheaper than a garage who quoted me 120 quid!! If I could get all the tools needed under £20 quid I would be much appreciated, please let me know if you find a set that will do the job! I have already spent 35 on an induction coil and will get a set of spark plugs now for a tenner as recommended earlier. So any set of tools that will allow me to fit the spark plugs and induction coil under 20 quid would be perfect! Thanks for all your help
