#1: 206 gran turismo track car or not? Author: Blaenavon1980 PostPosted: Thu Aug 28, 2014 6:27 pm

Hi all, I'm new on the 206 scene and tonight bought myself a 206 gran turismo which I thought would make a great track car,but my mate then said these are rare models? As I drive a scooby for my road toy I haven't a clue on what's a rare pug or not, reason I'm asking I don't want to bugger up a decent car on track..I know it's got a number on door and will post this tomorrow. Any thoughts and ideas are welcome..cheers

manual throttle (cable) preplexed wiring im sure. Proberly a good idea to clean air filter pipes out . or put a short 3inch inlet pipe with air filter . Gut all the crap pips out . keep aircon if you strip out the car . has got 2nd fan that kicks in & cools engine more .They run hot standard . my advice anyway .
2.0l 16v ew10j4 engine should be under the bonnet .

I think your wasting your time . Its a pug 206 gti with different bumpers that looks quite funny ! Two bumpers and i got the exact same car . Ive just sold a gt Front bumper 60 quid . going on a rally conversion and hopefully it gets proper use . . only benefit it of a 206 gt its better for aero if you install a flat floor on it with a diffuser on back bumper . track car !!!!!!!!! SIMPOLS

Save the GT, there are plenty of cheap GTi's out there for thrashing around a track.

GT is nothing special. Nobody really cares about it. Worth keeping if it's immaculate but otherwise just get on with stripping it.

I agree! What He Said

At the end of the day it's just a old 206 GTI with a fat a**e & thick lip, with electric folding mirror's that normally stop working.
