All depends on how fussy your local plod are to be honest. In London they seem to be pulling people quite a lot for it, even as going as far as sitting past the brow of hills to catch people out.
Realistically any decent MOT'er should be failing you on it, but Dodgy Dave does like a drink Laughing

My projectors passed the Italian "Revisione" with the hid's last year.

Here in Yorkshire they're pretty laid back to be fair, and it's hardly a danger up to the vehicles that some people drive. It'll all be fully declared on insurance.

So now it's pretty much impossible to retro fit hid's? As where
Possible can you get auto levellers and washers if that make
Of car doesn't have hids as standard or an option? Pretty sure that 206's didn't? Although I could be wrong. Seen plenty of them with clear hids fitted though. Admittedly most are still I'm reflector headlights.

Shame on you few! Giving the 206 a chav status.

you can fit crystal on old 206 (need some tweak on the wiring), don't know if you can fit frosted on new 206. As the headlamp system is not the same.

I think crystal use 1 bulb for dip light and 1 bulb for main beam; frosted use the same bulb for dip and main beam

Correct.
Phase 1/Frosted => H4, one bulb w/ 2 filaments, only one on at a time as the single bulb can't take the heat from both filaments.
Phase 2/Crystals=> H7, two bulbs w/ 1 filament each, dipped remains on along with high.

Just as you with a relay can keep the dipped on along with the high beam when going from frosted to crystals, you could use a relay to cut off the supply to the dipped when the high turns on if you switch from crystals to frosted...

If the car doesn't have both type of connectors on the loom, you'd need a physical adaptor (like you need a mains plug adaptor when using UK electrical stuff on the continent)

IIRC it can also be done (both ways) w/o relays by changing the COM module and a BSI settings tweak.

But as James307 said, why downgrade - it's not like crystals are expensive/hard to find...

Exactly. If I can't get decent projectors I'm just going to buy some very good condition crystals. The lights currently work they are screwed together though and one isn't secured very well as all the clips have snapped and I've soldered them together. But it's poor plastic for soldering and seems to blister under heat.

I really want devil eyes but they seem impossible to find with a h7 fitment so it's a no go on them. Only others are angel eyes and I'm not sure if the angel eyes are gonna be led or halogen. Halogen angel eyes will look terrible with hid lights and I don't think you can change the bulbs in them.

206 is just a cheap bargain basement runabout that reputation has been ruined by far to many youths bastardising them with tacky / silly mods & running up the insurance premiums by writing them of.
