There's only a locating lug for the furthermost side. Just undo the one plastic nut and it'll come free - it might need a bit of a wiggle, as the weather/moss tends to keep them securely in place!

Probably the switch on the gearbox.
Common to fail tbh
You don't need a reverse light for MOT, so depends how much it bothers you.

Easiest way to check would be to disconnect the plug from the reverse switch and bridge the contacts.
