#1: Anti pollution Fault Author: tomsk14, Posted: Mon Sep 29, 2014 12:30 pm ---- Okay so I know this is complicated but I will do my best.
This is much more likely to happen when the car is cold, and when I try to turn it over it just 'chokes' and wont actually start. I take the key out, try again and it starts. Always on second attempt. The oil level shows it is empty/almost empty (when this problem doesnt occur the oil level shown is fine and the oil level IS fine) and then the engine diagnostic light appears and the beep noise accompanied by ' anti pollution fault'. It also appears to be affecting whether I can get hot air out of the car? This is also intermittent though.
I have had it looked at at a local garage, who put it on the diagnostic and said they believed it to be the ignition coil pack - I paid £200 and it hasnt fixed it.
However before I had this done, when the above 'happened' the car would lose power as well, I havent had that hapen since the ignition coil was fitted about 2 months ago.
I have a full warranty on it including cat convert. cover if needed, my problem is the garage(s) will not do the work unless they are sure as they believe they wont get paid if they fix the wrong bit.
I also had it diagnosed a second time and they said it was simply showing something as being wrong with the computer on the car.
I have given as much detail as I possibly can, but my car is a 2005 206cc 2.0l with only 40k on the clock and in beautiful condition otherwise - I'd really like to get this problem fixed esp. whilst its still under warranty - another 3 months.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much. Really appreciate any help.

#6: Re: Anti pollution Fault Author: mattymj, Location: NorfolkPosted: Mon Sep 29, 2014 4:09 pm ---- Its a very thorough way of checking, its what the dealers use.. I would like to hope it would pin-point the problem. It won't cost much...

#8: Re: Anti pollution Fault Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Wed Oct 01, 2014 9:12 am ---- If the garage attempting to fix it are the selling garage then fault diagnosis and repair is their problem. If the warranty is sold seperately then that might be a bit more difficult.
Warranties...........
