Radiator fan working degree ?
-> 206 Problems

#1: Radiator fan working degree ? Author: Cypriot PostPosted: Wed Oct 15, 2014 1:54 pm
    ----
Hi all,

I recently bought 1999 peugeot 206 1.9d XR and No ac

I noticed that the radiator cooling fan kicks in at 98c degree and only works for very short of time and stops when temp drops about 93c degrees.

Before you ask ;
Cooling liquid is ok
There is no airlock in the system
Thermostat is 83 c degree ( not sure)
İf it is not idle or stuck in traffic jam temp is arround 70 - 80 c degree all day

İs this radiator cooling fan normal operation for this car?

Or there must be a first stage which signal to the fan to star earlier?

I confuse and wants to know answer before I stuck in the traffic jam

İf there are 2 stage which sensor / relay / wiring must be checked?

I use this vehicle for work everday about 50-60 miles and sometimes stuck in the traffic jam because of this Please rurgent reply

Thanks in advance

Cypriot

By the way what is the control part which operates early 206 1.9d (without ac) radiator fan?

Green sensor which is located at the upper part of radiator? Or there is another sensor or relays or electronic control unit for fan?

I have the exact same problem with my 1.4 petrol 206.

Any ideas? Is the coolant temp sensor worth a go?

Sounds like normal operation to me.

Just to add mine beeps stop around the same time the fan kicks in. Sometimes the reading goes in to red while the fan is starting to cool it down.

Got a new water pump, going to try a new coolant sensor.
