I'd be perfectly happy if you named and shamed the scammer to prevent others being ripped off in the future.

Big +1 to that, I invested in one of those UV pens and torch security things a while ago, anything I sell gets marked with my signature, also handy for marking things like your phones, tablets even the expensive stuff in your house, you never know when it could come in handy one day.

On things that might be candidates for disassembly/modding (like a cluster) another idea would be to add small drops of paint (nail polish) across seams and sides of screws - and document them, as [anti]tampering indicators...

Still haven't had a reply back from him, Yeah its made me more aware now to have good clear pics, I made invest into one of the security pens to.
