#1: ET3 timing belt Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Mon Oct 27, 2014 12:50 pm ---- Hi
Got a timing belt to replace on a ET3 engine, is there anything special about the VVT I need to worry about?
OR is it just pin it all up with the tools & proceed like any other normal timing belt?
Cheers in advance

No harm in drill bit tools to pin it and liquid pins as well
Also do the water pump as well if i was you

The car drives flat as a witches tit / bogs down around 1200 rpm but get it above 2k rpm & it flies
I've got a genuine timing belt & water pump kit to fit on it

It isn't an 8V nor diesel.

There is something wrong with it, I get feeling VVT is gummed up.

Might be worth getting a engine ecu download if it persists
#7: Re: ET3 timing belt Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Mon Oct 27, 2014 4:14 pm ---- I was thinking software update for BSI, wouldn't hurt to get ECU download at same time.
I get the feeling it hasn't had any downloads for many years.
Must start my project thread at weekend.

Ill have the VVT solenoid out at the weekend for a clean & throw a set of Bosch spark plugs in at same time.
Might also have a look with the laptop & see what software it's currently running at the moment.
