#1: Noise from back Author: jamie-38-206, Posted: Mon Nov 10, 2014 11:16 pm ---- Hi, My car had a lot of work done to it recently due to failing MOT and other issues. My mechanic put a 2nd hand rear axle on it but there is a squeak coming from it. it does it when you push the back of the car up a down also. I took it back and he said it is the torsion bar and its just one of those noises you get from old peugeots. it is very annoying. What can be done about it? Is a new torsion bar a option? or can it be greased or something?

Is your mechanic 100% sure its even suspension related? Could just be the space saver cage?! Mine was squeeking until I removed the thing.

not sure if it can be greased without stripping the arm off tho .
if your going to do that I'd change the bearing at the same time, they're not that expensive.
