#1: New sound system install questions Author: kev321 PostPosted: Tue Nov 11, 2014 4:09 pm

Im getting an 03 206 gti 180 in under a week and want to do a full sound system install but browsing this forum i see something about if you disconnect the battery it messes everything up and then cant be started again?
I may have this utterly wrong so thought id ask before fitting the system.
Been quoted £380 by a pro or free by myself but dont want to be stranded with a shiny new install Razz

There is only a problem if you do not shut down the Bsi system properly. there are guides on the forum if you look for it. Maybe make an introduction for yourself

If you can follow about 10 simple steps then you don't need a pro.

not hard in the slightest todo, and the bsi thing is simple........personally i would save the £380........as I almost guarantee the installer won't follow the bsi shutdown/reboot procedure

just do it yourself its pi** easy mate 380 seem steep to fit it anyway.
just make sure you buy the right leads/connectors and its a five min job for the H/U ok if your doing all the speakers aswell it will take a bit longer, but still not worth that sort of cash.

The main issue with ICE installs on the multiplexed 206's are:

Idiots wiring in to the CAN wire's in the ISO plug which in turn will blow the fuse that also controls part of the immobiliser system resulting in a 206 that wont start.

The correct wiring info for the ISO plugs is:

1) In the owners handbook that came with the car when new.

2) Available online on the Peugeot owners handbook website if you haven't got / lost the book.

3) Is in the ICE section of this very forum.

4) Or you can buy the adaptor loom very cheaply from any Peugeot / Citroen main dealer parts dept.

Thanks for all the replies Very Happy I am one of the unluckiest people alive and thats what scares me about doing it. Ive got a quote of £240 fully fitted including two amp kits and speaker wire. Im going to go ahead with them fitting it but should i mention this procedure or is that being cheeky. Thanks again guys oh and one more thing can i use 17cm speakers in the front? A guide i found online says i can but on the ice section it just says 16.5 thanks

Great stuff. I will let them know just in case they screw it up. Dont suppose you know anyone on the forum with the connects2 double din fascia set fitted?Just curious if it looks pants and i should ditch the idea and get a fold out instead

i think one or two on here have done it but who that would be i'm really not sure sorry.
i personly think a good quality single din non flip screen looks the best in the 206 but thats a personal choice.
i has the alpine IDA units fitted in both my 180's because they had a rear usb input lead so you can run the lead down into the glovebox and keep all the wires hidden and looking clean.

I really love having a screen to tap for audio and gps. Its either www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PHI...3ce1b29443 single din flip out or www.dynamicsounds.co.u...ood&page=3 plus the connects2 kit. I dont know much about the quality of Philips car stereos but googling about it seems to be a great head unit.
