Hi,
I have a Peugeot 206 'T' plate (1999) it's a 1.4 manual, I bought it a couple of weeks ago and the first thing I noticed was that the Rev counter started very high, at one point whilst the engine was off it was showing 4000rpm, it went between 6 and 7000 when I turned it on, my partner then discovered that he could get the rev counter back down by turning the electrics on and off, it took about 10 times. Now if I over rev or stall, the needle gets stuck higher every time. Btw the revs always sound fine, it just seems to be the counter. What is wrong with it, can it be easily fixed?any help would be great. Thank you Smile

Either the rev needle is loose on the metal shaft OR the drive unit inside the clock set is worn out.

Both known issues on non plexed 206s like yours.
