#1: 206 Gt will not start. Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Sun Dec 07, 2014 11:23 am ---- Right so I have only just got the car on the road for the first time in possibly 2 years and she decided to cut out on me, now it will not start up but it does turn over. I'm thinking it is fuel related. I can here a very low noise at the fuel pump when the seat is up when I turn on the ignition but I seem to remember it being louder.
Couple of questions for you guys.
1. How loud is the fuel pump when you guys turn on the ignition.
2. which wires do I need will I need to probe into with a volt metre to find out if power is getting to the pump. Electric's and me are not one with each other. Might do a night course.
3. Where are the fuel pump relays situated. (Pics would be great if you can)
4. Where are the fuel pump fuses. (Pics would be great if you can)
5. Please could someone please take a photo of there full fuse box inside the car, as I do not know where the cover showing me what and where the fuses go has disappeared to.
6. If the fuel pump is getting power to it could it still be fuel pump related
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take off the pipe from the fuel pump, pop it into a fairly deep container, cover it with a cloth to stop splashing and turn on the ignition briefly to check flow.

That's a good idea I will give it a go tomorrow when I go to the car. If the fuel does flow through the system do you have any idea of what else could be causing the not starting. #5: Re: 206 Gt will not start. Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 5:12 am ---- Checked the pump at the valve about the fuel rail and everytime that I turn on the ignition and press the valve in fuel comes out, so it does seem to be getting fuel to the injectors.
Any other ideas? I dont have use of pp2000 to get the diagnostics checked so its a trial and error game

Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 7:19 am ---- Well I have currently got the battery disconnected so I will go back tomorrow and see if it starts up after an ecu reset. I have spoken to a local garage with a diagnostics machine that they will come round with tomorrow if I am still struggling. It is so annoying that it is not obd2 and I can not use any of my readers on it. I can not get the car to a dealer as it is not starting.

Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:01 pm ---- I fitted a new fuel pump today and cant hear it prime and there is no fuel coming from the valve at the front, so i put my old one in and thats doing the same. No priming sound and also no fuel from the valve. Ive took the multifunction relay out to clean up.. does this relay have an effect on the pump. Im going to get diagnostics on it possibly tomorrow. I also need a new pump retainer (the black ring that holds the pump in) due to it getting damaged due to it being 15 years old. The pump is not air tight would this stop it from priming

#11: Re: 206 Gt will not start. Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:32 pm ---- How would I sort the immobiliser fault out and also whats the reason for the car driving then cutting out because of the immobiliser? I dont have a clue about the electrics side.

Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:43 pm ---- maybe you have a clogged fuel filter mate, replace it,or check if the fuel is coming out from the feed pipe in the engine bay,I wonder why you replaced your fuel pump while yours was working,if fuel is good, then it maybe immbo. but to quit guessing, the diagnostic tool is your best choice.
#13: Re: 206 Gt will not start. Author: 206gt160, Location: BlackburnPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:51 pm ---- I thought I remembered the fuel pump being louder when priming so I decided to change the pump. Definitely fuel related due to no priming noise, I will get the diagnostics on it. Also I will try the immobiliser reset.

You haven't lost the chip out of the key have you? Or it's been so long the BSI and key have become disconnected ...
Does the central locking from the key button work?
