#1: 206 1.4 petrol fuel problems Author: omega, Location: nottinghamPosted: Sun Dec 14, 2014 10:35 am ---- last night my car wouldn't start turning over fine but no hint of a fire.i decided it had to be fuel or sparks.was looking under the car and just touched the fuel tank and heard the pump kick in and she started.so today have removed in tank pump cleaned it all up.cleaned the electrical connections and its been fine all day.but just been out now and it didn't want to start until I had tried 3 times.
so is it new pump time? does it have a inline filter as it has a canister type thing near the tank[does this come apart or is it a replacement part]
will a gti pump fit as I think I have one in my shed or is it to powerfull?
just to add its got half a tank of petrol and new plugs were fitted 2months ago

not got a code reader but don't think it has a socket its a 1998 model
how do you change the filter does it just split open.
