Hiya Guys,

It has been a while, I no longer own a 206 now sadly had to sell as it was starting to become a nightmare, I now have an MG ZT do not ask me why but for what I paid for it I think it was a good find, anyway a mate has got a 206 and he has a problem with his rear lights ( 2 x brake lights & the high level brake light) are permanently on when he is driving, is this a common fault cause I must admit I have seen this before and it was mainly on 206's ? Is there a simple fix or is it something that he would need to go to a garage to fix?

If there is a how to on this site maybe one of you guys can post the link so I can take a look and see if I can fix it for him.

Merry Christmas & a happy 2015 to all members.

Hope to hear from you soon

cheers Pete

Under the glove box in the footwell there is the brake light switch (blue if I remember correctly) check that it is still plugged in and secure Smile

Why do people do this ?
Annoying .
Keep your feet on the matt!

Only french would put the switch/connector in the passenger side & have a massive metal bar going across from the drivers pedal .

I feel the steering input through my left foot some times .
Annoying .

At least cover it up .

Just push connector back on .

The 206 is lucky, in newer PSA Peugeot / Citroen products they don't even move the BSI unit when they do the right hand drive conversion, so right hand drive products have a useless sized glovebox.

Looks like the brake booster and master cylinder is on da left side.

I also get that feeling in my left foot from steering!!

I have just cured this very problem. Having checked the switch under glove box I decided to check bulbs. The brake light bulb was the wrong type.replaced bulb for correct one now problem solved all 3 brake lights and rear lights working as required
