#1: 206 2.0 HDI D-Turbo, slow progress Author: Imelliot, Location: East Ayrshire, ScotlandPosted: Fri Dec 26, 2014 2:15 pm ---- So on Christmas day i got this as a present from my dad and so far I'm loving the car, The body is a little rough need to give it a good polish and wax and see how it comes up. This is my second car first was a 1.1 Saxo that I've had since march but passed my test in July 2014.
Plans for the 206 are:
Really good clean
Wind deflectors
Decent set of alloys
Full sound system with possible custom boot build
De-badge rear
What I'm considering but not sure about:
Rear window tints
De-wiper
Lowering
What I've done:
Arm rest
Window Tints
Carbon fibre wrapped spoiler
Alloys
Wind Deflectors
Lowered
GTI 180 axle
GTI 180 interior
Fly eye
straight through exhaust
induction kit
semi-decent sound system
de-badged
If you have any ideas of what else i could do let me know
My old car
The 206

Hard to explain really but it takes a bit to get used to. So far I'm loving the power and not needing to think so much about overtakes it's just the case of touching the throttle. The main difference is sitting about 60 with the 1.1 i would be in 5 with the throttle about half way to do 60 where as the 2.0 is just the case of 5th gear and gently touching it. But so far the best bit is when people ask what you drive and you can say 206 2.0 turbo instead of 1.1 saxo

I was planning to forgot to mention it but I'm waiting till i start getting board with the power before doing it

Each to there own but personally i like them but they're quite scuffed up, If i can find a set of decent Nimrods cheap i will get them as I'm not planning on getting the current ones refurbished until summer
A pic from earlier,
Also i ordered some door speakers sooner than i was expecting to when i discovered they don't work or they're not there one of the two haha and i can't be bothered taking the door card of to find out

I've read your progress thread many many times haha. Again i forgot to mention that was part of the plan, I like the look of the window tints, but whats it like reversing at night with the windows tinted that's my only concern really
#11: Re: 206 2.0 HDI D-Turbo, slow progress Author: MrWhite, Posted: Sat Dec 27, 2014 8:18 pm ---- I use my wing mirrors so it's not so bad

I mainly use the mirrors but the window has proved to be helpful and i can get the back windows tinted 5% limo tint for £70 is that good?
#13: Re: 206 2.0 HDI D-Turbo, slow progress Author: MrWhite, Posted: Sun Dec 28, 2014 6:12 am ---- I got s company to do the back window it has proven to be quite hard being so curved so I think that price sounds okay I went full limo on all the rear windows
#14: Re: 206 2.0 HDI D-Turbo, slow progress Author: Imelliot, Location: East Ayrshire, ScotlandPosted: Sun Jan 04, 2015 10:30 am ---- Got a little update
But first i will cover what i missed out on the original post, the car is a 2001 registered in January and has around 125k
Now for the list of bad things
Body is a little rough
Has a boost leak
The odd clunking coming from the front suspension every once and a while
No service history
few pics
paint is chipping away
Bumper doesn't seem to line up, a friend said his 206 was the exact same there? Is this a common thing?
there's more little small things but they should come out with a polish
I got board of having no bass at all so i got a tempo subwoofer and amp for 30 quid
Excuse the messy boot haha
I also got these after i found out there was no door speakers again a friend said his 206 was the exact same
Installing them tonight
Tonight I'm also going to polish then wax it and possibly de-badge the rear so there will be some before and afters tomorrow
#15: Re: 206 2.0 HDI D-Turbo, slow progress Author: Imelliot, Location: East Ayrshire, ScotlandPosted: Tue Jan 13, 2015 3:13 pm ---- Ok so time for an update.
Still haven't got my speakers in will get them shortly
I finally gave it a quick polish to see how it came up was actually surprised if I'm honest
Sometime this week I'm going to give it another wash then clay it polish it again this time properly and i got some chemical guys mirror finish glaze so will fire some of that on then a sealant and wax
After that i went and got some alloys
then last night i inquired about window tints and the guy said he could fit me in today at 1pm so that morning i got up put my alloys on then headed down to autotint in Kilwinning, Also got my spoiler wrapped in carbon fibre
Got a picture with the alloys and tints didn't have time for one before i got the tints done.
will get some better pictures and some of the spoiler too.
I have some wind deflectors coming and after that i will be looking into lowering it and a remap also still to De-badge it and De-wiper it then i will be a bit lost on what else to do
