try getting a 4-1 manifold down the back of the engine(gti) .
Ive got ptsd from doing it !
Pug 180 & i cannot even get the manifold clamp undone to put the de-cat on .
( funny angle &(2) heat shield's in the way . Ordered a new spanner & a long socket ready for round 2 ! i do struggle .

I lowered the subframe& engine (edward) as much as i could (brakelines in way ) .
Did not want to remove the subfame as i only had that day to do it myself over a borrowed pit .. took me 7 hrs to complete with cat welded up to with a flange .
Good luck gaznandrea . a wee polish to head valves before its refitted ?
