Worse case would be holed pistons, the fact the OP said the spark plugs where burnt out isn't encouraging.
Wonder if the correct spark plugs have been used?

The correct & only Bosch spark plug listed for this engine according to Bosch technical services are FQR7ME.

Well Bosch the company that manufacture the spark plug don't list that plug for fitment to your engine.
Just because it may physically fit doesn't mean its suitable.
