If you are worried it might be hard to do just give it a go now, if I recall correctly there is like a clip in the ashtray and then the unit comes out. It's really obvious when you take a look.

Doesn't even hold a regular drink for fast food outlets and if you brake or accelerate too harsh it spills over. Save yourself the £11 and just use the door cup holders.
